The Grandmaster in Chief is the executive head of the order. He handles the governance of the order and is also the President of the Senate. Although he holds the executive power in the order, the power to invest knights and dames is not inherent in him but in the Council of Noble Patrons lead by the Honorary Prince Grandmaster.

 

However, the affairs of the Council of Noble Patrons is not under the jurisdiction of the power of the Grandmaster-in-Chief.
